Cancellation:  Wave of Light Service Tuesday 15th October.  We are so sorry to have to cancel this event, scheduled to be held at All Saints Church, Newton on Ouse, as the church is now closed for health and safety reasons and our alternative venue is not available.  We apologise unreservedly to all those planning to attend, and hope to hold this event in Baby Loss Awareness Week 2020. 

Advance Notices:
Saturday 12th October: Deanery Discipleship Day from 9.30am for 10am start - finish 1pm.  Venue: Tollerton Church.  Covering courses START, Pilgrim & Talking Jesus.  Refreshments available.  All are welcome.  Please print attached poster & A6 invites to advertise in your church. We need as much publicity as possible.  Thank You 

Easingwold Deanery Ecumenical Choir: Faure's Requiem rehearsals start on Friday 11th October 7.30pm Venue: Easingwold Parish Church. 

Saturday 19th October: Selby Abbey at 11.00am. Public Service to welcome the new Archdeacon of York The Venerable Samantha Rushton

Saturday 26th October: Piano Concert at St Helen & The Holy Cross, Sheriff Hutton...To celebrate the release of his new CD, ‘Hope’, local composer Andrew Cleaton is presenting a special album launch concert at St Helen's.  Andrew will be performing evocative solo piano pieces from the new collection - subtitled “Musical meditations on light in dark places” - as well as talking about the ideas and inspiration behind the music. All are welcome, so come along and bid farewell to British Summertime in the company of this thoughtful and engaging musician.  Admission: £5.00 on the door. Suitably celebratory refreshments will be included in the form of nibbles and fizz! (All funds raised from the sale of tickets will go to support the work of St Helen’s.)  The new CD will be available for purchase on the night at a special introductory offer price - along with other recordings featuring Andrew's music.  Please do let us know in advance (to help with catering) by either visiting: or emailing

Illuminate! One Day Holiday Club: Thursday 31st October 9am - 3pm at Strensall Methodist Church.  Kidz Klub Strensall offer Drama, Games, Songs, Crafts & much more.  Breakfast also available from 8-9am - for prices and full details please click here for poster.
